In order to become a member of the Northside’s COP Program you must submit an application to Cincinnati’s Citizens On Patrol Program Coordinator. After the applicant clears the background check , he/she will be required to complete a 12 hour course and an 8 hour ride-a-long with Cincinnati Police Officer. The 12 hour course is divided into three 4 hour sessions. During the course you will learn about the “Broken Window” theory and what you can do to help prevent or resolve these quality of life issues. You will also learn how to report crimes in progress using police issued radios. Citizens On Patrol members only observe and report, we do not engage. After completing the course you will be required to observe a Cincinnati Police Officer in action by completing an 8 hour ride-a-long. I recommend the power shift! Other training offered is Bike Training and Driving Training. If you are interested but would like to speak with a COP Member please click the link below submit the electronic form and you will be contacted by a COP Member.
